Seeking dependable and safety-focused Truck Drivers to operate company vehicles and transport mail, freight, packages, and other authorized cargo between designated facilities and customer locations. The Truck Driver is responsible for safe, timely, and professional transportation services while complying with company policies, customer requirements, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and all applicable traffic laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned trucks, tractors, trailers, box trucks, or other company-approved vehicles.
- Transport mail, freight, packages, equipment, and other cargo to designated locations according to assigned schedules and routes.
- Report to assigned pickup and delivery locations on time.
- Contact dispatch upon arrival at pickup and delivery locations as required.
- Notify dispatch promptly of delays, traffic problems, accidents, mechanical issues, or other circumstances that may affect service.
- Properly load, secure, transport, and unload cargo to prevent damage, loss, or shifting during transportation.
- Inspect the vehicle before, during, and after each trip and report defects or mechanical concerns immediately.
- Maintain the vehicle, cab, and assigned equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Complete required trip sheets, logs, bills of lading, delivery receipts, time records, and other transportation documentation accurately.
- Obtain required signatures and ensure arrival and departure times are properly documented.
- Immediately report damaged, missing, or questionable paperwork to dispatch.
- Follow all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations, company safety policies, customer procedures, and traffic laws.
- Maintain required hours-of-service records and operate within legal driving and duty limits.
- Perform or assist with loading and unloading when required by the assigned route.
- Use company-issued phones, tablets, electronic logging devices, or other technology to document trips and communicate with dispatch.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers, USPS personnel, facility personnel, and the public.
- Protect customer property, mail, freight, equipment, and confidential information.
- Fuel vehicles as required and submit fuel receipts and other required documentation.
- Immediately report accidents, injuries, vehicle damage, citations, or other safety incidents to management.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
