W
e are seeking a Software Engineer for Autonomy to support the development, deployment and evolution of software, data and AI capabilities across complex and safety-critical programmes. Working within a newly established software development team, you will contribute to the creation of scalable and reusable software solutions that enhance operational capabilities and support strategic growth.

ou will work closely with software engineers, architects, DevOps specialists and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams, developing secure and robust solutions that enable autonomy, data integration and digital transformation initiatives across defence and technology-focused environments.

EY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
- evelop, test and deploy secure software solutions.
•
- reate and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated delivery.
•
- evelop reusable and scalable software capabilities.
•
- upport software products throughout their lifecycle.
•
- onduct code reviews, debugging and troubleshooting activities.
•
- ontribute to secure development practices, threat modelling and vulnerability management.
•
- ork closely with architects, engineers and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
•
- mplement APIs and third-party integrations.
•
- roduce high-quality technical documentation.
•
- upport innovation activities, proof-of-concepts and continuous improvement initiatives.
E
SSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
•
- trong C++ development experience or knowledge of equivalent safety-critical programming languages.
•
- xperience developing software on Linux and/or Windows platforms.
•
- nowledge of Python and modern software engineering practices.
•
- xperience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
•
- nderstanding of DevOps, DevSecOps and Agile methodologies.
•
- xperience with cloud technologies, APIs and microservices.
•
- nowledge of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB or similar.
•
- xperience with autonomy systems integration or autonomous software architectures.
•
- trong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•
- xperience delivering software within defence, aerospace, medical or other regulated
e
nvironments.
•
- bility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•
- egree, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or software discipline.
•
- ligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

ESIRABLE SKILLS:
•
- xperience with AI, Machine Learning or autonomous systems.
•
- nowledge of containerisation and cloud deployment technologies.
•
- xperience with large-scale data integration programmes.
•
- nderstanding of software architecture governance and design assurance.
•
- nowledge of ITIL, Enterprise Architecture or information management frameworks.
•
- AFe Agile experience or relevant technical certifications.
