About the team

Deposit and Remittance Section ("DRS") is one of the operation units of the Hong Kong Administration Department of Mizuho Bank Hong Kong Branch. DRS provides operation support on Cash Management products and services to different business units, Head Office and various overseas branches. It also participates in operation and control optimization, new products and business initiative projects which supports the growth of the Bank.

Role requirements

- Oversee and monitor daily operational processes for Remittance and Payment Screening. Identify potential risks and implement robust controls in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market best practices to mitigate risk, enhance compliance, and safeguard organizational assets.

- Manage daily cash management operations, including cross-border and domestic payment processing, account documentation, and reconciliation, ensuring optimal cash positions and operational efficiency.

- Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operational activities and resolve complex inquiries escalated by the team.

- Drive digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. Leverage data-driven insights, industry best practices, and stakeholder feedback to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and achieve operational excellence.

- Lead and support cross-functional projects and initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure strategic alignment, transparency, and successful project delivery.

- Perform ad-hoc duties and strategic exercises as assigned by the Team Head and Section Head.

Essential Functions

- Direct and oversee the end-to-end daily operations for remittance, cross-border/domestic payment processing, and payment screening.

- Manage cash positioning, account documentation, and reconciliation processes to ensure seamless and efficient financial operations.

- Act as the first line of defense by identifying operational risks within payment processes.

- Enforce internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market best practices to ensure strict compliance, mitigate risks, and safeguard organizational assets.

Work experience, education and skills

- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred).

- Minimum of 4 years of solid experience in banking operations, with a strong focus on remittance processing, account management, or back-office operations.

- Proven track record in both people management and project management is essential.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong command of both spoken and written English and Chinese

- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a strong aptitude for navigating banking and remittance systems.
