At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

| Production Innovation

Our Production Innovation team drives industry innovation, sets technical standards, and provides direct production support across Netflix's global slate. We support creative teams, crews, post facilities, and internal partners - from capture through delivery - ensuring our workflows balance creative ambition with technical excellence. Beyond support, we actively explore emerging opportunities in AI, imaging/sound, and production technology, always grounded in real-world filmmaking practice.

| Role Overview

We are seeking a Director, Production Innovation to build and lead the team responsible for identifying, piloting, and scaling emerging production technology across APAC - including generative AI, on-set tools, and VFX/imaging workflow innovation. This leader sets the innovation roadmap, manages a team of technology managers (including the GenLab and GenTech), and is the primary point of contact with Product, Legal, and Content Operations to turn field pilots into org-wide guidance and standards. You bring a strong point of view on where technology can genuinely improve creative and production outcomes, the judgment to say no to hype, and the leadership skill to build a team that filmmakers and production partners trust.

| Key Responsibilities

-
Set and own the Production Innovation roadmap and prioritization across APAC, balancing AI, imaging, sound, and emerging technology opportunities against production impact.

-
Lead and grow the team, including direct management of the GenLab, GenTech, Production Technology, and other innovation roles - setting goals, coaching, and developing talent.

-
Partner with production and content leadership, directors, producers, and external creative leads to identify where new technology can meaningfully improve creative quality, speed, or cost.

-
Own the pilot-to-standard pipeline: run structured pilots, evaluate outcomes against traditional methods, and convert what works into scalable guidance, training, and vendor recommendations.

-
Represent the APAC Production with COI, Product, and legal, ensuring new workflows meet copyright, IP, and data security standards before they scale.

-
Build and maintain relationships across the vendor, studio, and talent ecosystem, spanning both generative and traditional production technologies.

-
Report progress, risk, and resourcing needs to senior leadership, and make the call on where to invest, pause, or kill a given pilot.

-
Champion field feedback from production teams into product and process improvements.

| Qualifications

Required:

-
15+ years of experience in film/series/gaming/VFX production, including prior people leadership.

-
Demonstrated track record leading teams through the adoption of new production technology (AI or otherwise) - not solely an individual-contributor background.

-
Strong grasp of end-to-end production and post (from development and previs through VFX turnover, conform/online, and delivery), and where technology intersects with each stage.

-
Hands-on familiarity with generative AI tools as well as core production tools (Unreal Engine, Adobe Premiere), but not limited to.

-
Excellent executive communication skills; able to translate technical and creative tradeoffs for senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

-
Experience managing cross-functional partners (Product, Legal, Content Operations) and external vendor ecosystems.

Preferred:

-
Degree in design, film, technology, or a related field.

-
Experience building a team or function from the ground up.

-
Regional experience across APAC production markets.

-
Familiarity with copyright, IP, and data security considerations in AI-driven workflows.

-
Track record establishing vendor and freelance talent relationships in emerging production technology.
