Job Summary
This hybrid role for a junior software engineer focuses on designing developing and maintaining secure and scalable microservice based applications using Python Java JavaScript and SQL. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver robust features enhance performance and support continuous integration while following industry leading engineering practices.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain modular microservice components that support scalable business applications and align strongly with enterprise engineering standards
Implement clean and efficient Python services that handle complex data processing tasks and ensure reliable and maintainable backend logic
Design and code Java based service layers that integrate with existing platforms and provide consistent and predictable transactional behavior
Build interactive JavaScript front end features that enhance user experience and ensure seamless interaction with backend microservices
Write optimized SQL queries and database procedures that support high performance data access and maintain data integrity across environments
Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to refine technical requirements and translate them into clear implementation tasks
Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback while continuously improving code quality and shared engineering practices
Create and maintain technical documentation that clearly describes service contracts data flows configuration details and operational runbooks
Contribute to automated testing pipelines by writing unit tests integration tests and regression tests that increase system reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve defects in microservices and database logic by performing structured root cause analysis and careful validation of fixes
Assist in monitoring application health using logs metrics and dashboards to identify bottlenecks and recommend targeted improvements
Support secure development practices by following organizational guidelines for authentication authorization encryption and data handling
Engage with stakeholders to understand evolving functional needs and propose incremental enhancements that deliver measurable business value
Apply basic understanding of asset and wealth management concepts when relevant to ensure that software solutions align with financial domain objectives

Qualifications
Possess professional experience between one and three years in software engineering with a focus on building production ready applications
Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python development including experience with common libraries frameworks and structured coding conventions
Exhibit hands on experience with Java for backend services including object oriented design principles and exception handling practices
Show practical skills in JavaScript for user interface development including event handling state management and integration with APIs
Display solid understanding of SQL including query optimization joins indexing and best practices for relational data modeling
Understand microservices fundamentals such as service boundaries stateless design interservice communication and resilience patterns
Have familiarity with source control workflows continuous integration tools and basic concepts of automated build and deployment pipelines
Bring exposure to asset and wealth management processes as a desirable advantage that helps in understanding investment and portfolio solutions
Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical partners and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous learning
