Physics, English and Psychology — GCSE/IGCSE AND A-LEVEL
Excelia Tutors is recruiting experienced, qualified teachers to deliver online tuition in Physics, English and Psychology, supporting students mainly based in the Middle East. Physics specialists are a particular priority. We welcome applicants specialising in one or more of these subjects.
You are not expected to teach every subject. This opportunity is suited to current or former schoolteachers with proven experience preparing students for GCSE/IGCSE and A-level examinations.
THE ROLE
Deliver personalised, one-to-one online lessons in your specialist subject.
Support students with subject understanding, exam technique and independent study.
Adapt explanations for different abilities, from students struggling with foundations to those targeting the highest grades.
Use relevant specifications, past papers and mark schemes to guide teaching.
Provide brief progress updates and communicate promptly with the Excelia team. Maintain agreed lesson commitments and reliable weekly availability.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
QTS, iQTS or an equivalent recognised school-teaching qualification.
At least three years of school teaching experience in the subject you are applying to teach.
Experience teaching at least two A-level cohorts through their final examinations in that subject.
Direct experience teaching GCSE or IGCSE exam classes.
Experience teaching the relevant curriculum within the last three academic years. Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to explain challenging concepts clearly.
Reliable internet, a suitable computer and a quiet, professional teaching environment. Confidence using online teaching tools and a digital whiteboard.
Willingness to provide qualification evidence, professional references and appropriate safeguarding/background checks.
A subject degree or having studied a subject at A-level does not replace the teaching experience required for this role. Please apply only for subjects in which you meet these requirements.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Examiner or moderator experience with recognised examination boards.
IB Diploma or AP teaching experience in your specialist subject.
Experience teaching A-level Further Mathematics.
Head of Department or subject leadership responsibilities.
Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
Successful online tuition experience.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
Fully remote, part-time freelance work. Lessons arranged around mutually agreed availability, particularly afternoons, evenings and weekends in UAE time. Student matching and administrative coordination provided by Excelia. Teaching hours depend on student demand, subject fit and availability.
A minimum number of hours is not guaranteed. Agreed tutoring fees are paid without deduction of income tax, unless withholding is required by law. Tutors are responsible for declaring their earnings and paying any applicable taxes and social contributions in accordance with their individual circumstances.
