About RelationX
RelationX is an early-stage AI relationship coaching product for Chinese-speaking users. We help users understand relationship situations, improve communication, and turn insights into practical next steps.
We’re looking for a hands-on developer to work directly with the founder and build our first web-based prototype.
What You’ll Do
- Build a mobile-friendly interface and backend.
- Integrate LLM APIs for structured insights and suggested messages.
- Deploy, test, and document the application.
- Make practical decisions about scope, reliability, cost, and user privacy.
What We’re Looking For
- Ideally 1–3 years of relevant development experience; more experienced applicants are also welcome.
- New graduates with strong projects or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience with React/Next.js or similar frameworks, plus TypeScript/Node.js or Python.
- Familiarity with databases, Git, deployment, and LLM API integration.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
- English and Mandarin Chinese proficiency preferred, particularly Chinese reading and writing.
Initial Engagement & Compensation
- $30–$50 USD per hour.
- Begin with a paid technical pilot capped at 10 total hours, with scope agreed before kickoff.
- Deliver a working AI interaction, source code, setup instructions, and an estimate for the next phase.
- Additional hours require prior written approval. Continued work depends on pilot results and an agreed budget; ongoing hours are not guaranteed.
Long-Term Opportunity & Equity
Strong contributors may be considered for a longer-term engineering role and equity incentives. Any equity award would be subject to a separate written agreement specifying the amount, vesting schedule, and applicable conditions. Equity is not guaranteed and does not replace the stated pilot pay.
OPT & Future Sponsorship
Candidates with valid OPT work authorization are welcome, provided the role and employment arrangement meet applicable requirements. The initial 10-hour pilot does not by itself establish qualifying ongoing OPT/STEM OPT employment.
Future H-1B sponsorship may be considered for eligible long-term roles, subject to company capacity and applicable requirements. Sponsorship is not guaranteed; STEM OPT support must be confirmed separately.
