Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in an urgent care setting. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as proficiency in operating various imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, and PET scan technologies. The X-ray Technician will ensure patient safety and comfort while delivering accurate diagnostic evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Perform X-ray examinations with precision and accuracy to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
- Operate CT and PET scan equipment as needed for comprehensive diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Keep detailed records of patient information, imaging procedures, and results.
- Stay updated on advancements in imaging technology and techniques, including nuclear medicine and sonography.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly through regular maintenance checks.
Qualifications
- Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to diagnostic imaging.
- Experience in urgent care settings is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, PET scans, nuclear medicine, and sonography.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
